Turning the Firewall ON and OFF
After you install the ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall, the Firewall is ON by default. You can turn it off and on as necessary, for example, if you need to troubleshoot a connection.
To turn the Firewall ON or OFF:
- Open the ZoneAlarm Free Antivirus + Firewall security software client.
- Click anywhere in the FIREWALL panel to open the FIREWALL tab.
- Move the ON/OFF slider in the Basic Firewall section to either ON or OFF position.
If the Firewall engine is ON, the Basic Firewall status line in the FIREWALL tab shows Blocks invasions and hacker activity status, and the main status bar shows that YOUR COMPUTER IS SECURE.
If the Firewall engine is OFF, the Basic Firewall status line in the FIREWALL tab says that Your firewall is not properly set and shows the Fix Now button. The main status bar gives the warning YOUR COMPUTER IS AT RISK and shows the Fix Now! button next to it. Click one of the Fix Now! buttons to turn the Firewall back ON.
